Everyone who has ever been a vehicle theft victim knows how unpleasant that can be. Yes, the vehicle is insured and sooner or later the insurance company will pay for it, but you have no vehicle. If you don’t have access to another one, and the vehicle is a vital part of your daily life and your go-to transportation method, you have to quickly buy a new one or find an adequate replacement.

What can you do to protect yourself from vehicle theft?

Several simple steps will provide you with additional security for the vehicle and peace for yourself.

  1. Install a GPS tracking device in your vehicle. That way even if you become a vehicle theft victim, you will be able to find it.
  2. Set an alarm in the GPS software to notify the driver of every ignition of the engine. This way you will know as soon as someone else starts the engine.
  3. Set an alarm to notify you if the GPS device hasn’t transmitted data for more than than 24 hours. This way quickly know if there is a technical problem with the GPS device and will be able to replace it or take the necessary precautions.
  4. GPS tracking devices have an option to remotely stop the engine via SMS. This option will allow you to block the engine via SMS in case of theft. In this scenario, the engine is shut down during the first half of the car or whenever it reduces speed to below 10 km/h.

Of course, you can also not do any of the above things and depend on your insurance policy on vehicle theft, but if you’ve decided to make use of one of the options listed above, don’t hesitate to give us a call at 0700 1 49 49 to ask for additional information on our basic GPS plan or a quote for corporate clients.
